Title: Getting power to your cabinets in your game room
Post by: rcrich on February 13, 2016, 09:00:38 pm
Hey guys I have been starting a collection of arcade games and was wondering how you guys turn on and off your machines.
I can't get to the on and off switches because they are in the back.
I don't want all of them on at once if I just want to play one for a while. Any ideas , my cabinets are next to each other for space reasons.

lowe,s sales remote outlet controls, three outless, and one remote, each outlet has to plug outlets, i use these, they are 15,and 20 amp outlets, 2 versions, if you can find the 20 there the best, but the 15 amp will work, the remote will let you turn on 6 games total, if both are hooked to one remote controled outlet, i hope this helps, and some others just use there breaker box and turn on the power to thwere room outlets, but i like the lowe,s remote outlets.

I've got 2 of these. Although I swear they were only like $30 when I was buying them. Now they are $40.

I connected them all to 1 extension cord that has its own switch so all are turned on at the same time together. I am working on rewiring the cabs so the all have the on/off button either under the control panel which easily reachable so they don't turn all at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Wire the outlets to a light switch. If you need to hire an electrician to do it.

This is what I purchased for my game room. They come with several in a pack so you don't have to worry about running all at the same time/on the same plug.
