Title: TP18S030 Replacements?
Post by: LordKaT on August 24, 2015, 11:59:30 am
I have a Universal Mr. Do board that I bought off ebay. The board seems to be in good shape, but the fuse PROM's have seen much better days. I've tried cleaning them up as much as I can, but I suspect one of them to be faulty.

Does anyone know if there's a suitable replacement for these fuse PROM's or a way to replicate their function? I'd rather not sacrifice another perfectly good Mr. Do to resurrect this one.

Thanks!

Do you think using something like a GAL might be possible if I built an adapter board?

you could use a GAL, you could even use a modern chip too as long as you are okay with having the adapter board on there.

not really that bad. stay under 50ns and you are fine. Even then a lot of those chips are in the 100ns range. Modern chips are down below 10ns.
