Title: 60-in-1 install question
Post by: Miner2049er on July 18, 2015, 11:27:03 am
I just got a 60-in-1 to install in my brother's (JAMMA) "Top Gunner." I verified the +5 range but the screen is just a scrolling quilt of colors. The only thing I could find is his current harness does not have a -5 wire from the PS (but his game works perfectly). Is this necessary to run the 60-in-1?  Thanks.

Okay, I get the distinction of answering myself  ::)

Dip Switch #3 (Display Mode (CTR)), on the 60-in-1 PCB, was preset (new product from retailer) in the "off" position (CGA-15.75Khz). The switch needed to be in the "on" position (VGA-31.5Khz). None of that means anything to me, and I welcome a lesson on this.

Second issue to troubleshoot was the volume, which can be adjusted on the second-to-last screen of the set-up menu (accessed with Test Mode dip switch setting #4 "on"). The preset volume level was set to share the attract music with the neighbors (just be prepared if the baby is sleeping, or you're working on your project at 3 AM).

Finally, to save/lock-in your settings in the set-up menu, you must press the player 1 start button.

After those lessons were learned, we have a 60-in-1 experience to compliment an upright "Top Gunner." I plan to order a 2-slot JAMMA harness to preserve the appearance/functionality of a dedicated (Konami Kit) game with the hidden 60-in-1 option. I have another 60-in-1 which I'll put into my "1943" next.
