Title: Super Cobra
Post by: randywhatson on July 06, 2015, 11:40:47 am
Hey everyone.

I need your opinion, collectively.

I have been searching for a Super Cobra (one of my personal favorite games).

Found one locally. The guy listed it for $950. Talked him down to $675. Should I get it or not. Seems to be in very good condition.

What do you guys think? Buy this one... or hold out for a better price?

Scott

#1 - post a photo. They are almost always conversions. Is it an original dedicated from the factory?
#2 - That's too expensive. $350ish game. Maybe $450.

yeah, I don't know how to put pics on this forum.

But it's original. It has the Black cabinet with red STERN on the sides.

The CPO is not original.

I tried telling him $950 was just crazy money. Then I showed him a few ads for machines that sold for $350 and $400.

The problem is he paid "a couple thousand" for the machine. I told him, no offense, but you overpaid bigtime.

He is obviously not a collector... saying stuff like, "I just paid to give it a tune up."

Not sure how I can get him to lower his price. Maybe after it sits on craigslist for a couple weeks he'll realize I'm not bullshitting him.

Oh well...

Red and Black is correct. This is the type of game you can be patient with. These do come up for sale and are not totally scarce.

Thanks John. That's my take too. I'll have to hold out for a better price.

Good luck. You never know, if that game sits on Craig's List for a month he may come to his senses. It has certainly happened before.
