Title: Twin Cobra issues
Post by: jessiewonka on April 11, 2015, 03:58:57 pm
I picked up a Twin Cobra pcb which boots, plays, has sound, but the image is very faint and flickery and kinda jacked. Prodded around but nothing yet.

Over at the Shmups forum system11 offered: "This, I had one of those bootlegs and it doesn't have a video ground. Create a wire link from 14 to the ground plane similar to what someone did on mine."

This indeed cured it. But I may have made it worse as now player one stick only moves up/right, and player two anything gives a "tilt" message on the screen and resets the game. Eek...

Yeah that makes sense. I am surprised it didn't have the ground. Pretty amazing you even got that much video without the ground.

Ok it's fixed, I used too heavy of a gauge wire and the connector wasn't seating all the way.  ::)
