Title: Universal Space Panic - pins / edge connector woes
Post by: lesoleil70 on April 03, 2015, 06:00:50 am
Guys I have just picked up an "Untested" space panic PCB....I know, I know...Untested....I knew it was a gamble.

The PCB edge connection is worn back in some areas on the pins, meaning when I place the harness on it it's not making connection with the board.  From the edge to the remaining parts of the connector is a gap of about 5mm on some of the pins.

I do get contunuity from the pins to the components, so all is not lost, the board could be good.

What do I do though to get the edge connector to the worn back pins...do I

1)place a thin track of solder on the pcb to extend the connection forward?
2)hard wire to the board
3) since I need to rewire the cabinet , probably Jamma for ease, should I hard wire a jamma adaptor to the board so at least I can remove the board.

Ugh....options...

I know I can get connections, just want some advice on the pro way to do it.

Cheers guys..
