Title: F14 Tomcat, good deal?
Post by: Worm2 on January 31, 2015, 08:23:10 pm
Is $2,200 for a F14 Tomcat a good deal? I have been told this is a hard table and plays real fast. But the 3 Red, White and Blue strobes on the top seem really fun to have.

hard table, games are super super quick. more a tournament/players table not so much a casual table. 2.2k very expensive for an f14. even minty your looking at 1.5k, in so so/routed condition 800 to 1k condition depending.

Thank you! I played it a few times but never did so great.
Its so hard to find a good pin for a good price. I want my first pin to be a game I really enjoy. The ones I really like I cant find. Thinking about throwing in the towel and buying a Walking Dead.

IMO - that's too much. Not a super desirable game. It's an iconic game but I don't think it's high on a lot of people's want lists. I'd feel better around $1,500 or less.

It blows my mind for how much pinballs sell in the US. A F14-tomcat sells for around 500-600 euro's (i guess this is 700 - 800 dollars). I bought mine for 200 euro's (checkout my restoration project, clickable in my signature), and sold it in mint condition for 700 euro's.

A nice Creature From The Black Lagoon changes owner for around 1500 - 1800 euro's around here.

Crazy, drive down to Germany and pins/ flipper went for crazy money. Of course when I lived there I only knew retail spots

What if it was restored by Todd Tuckey and Pals? heh heh

Sorry I didn't address the poster's question... At least in south Florida among collectors even nice F-14 pins go for 900-1000 and they seem not to stay in anyone's collection for long.. I have not owned one and only played a couple at expos
