Title: 1982 Time Pilot Joystick replacement recommendation? Post by: bfrosty on January 19, 2015, 05:18:53 pm Ok Guys,
My Time Pilots joystick is sticking. I cleaned it up a bit, but just doesn't work 100%. I looked closely at the leaf switches and noticed the silicone/white rubber parts are very worn and con-caved a lot. I wonder if that white rubber/silicone part just needs to be replaced? If not, what 8-way joystick would work best for a Time Pilot? I found one on mikesarcade.com that is an 8-way leaf switched for $17. Any suggestions guys? Thanks, MK Title: Re: 1982 Time Pilot Joystick replacement recommendation? Post by: iankellogg on January 20, 2015, 08:21:53 am There is only one true joystick for time pilot and any thing else is a hack. If you still have the original monroe joystick, you just need to clean it and replace leaf switches that are damaged beyond repair.

I know, I tried to find a Monroe joystick...nearly impossible. Thanks, MK 8) Title: Re: 1982 Time Pilot Joystick replacement recommendation? Post by: iankellogg on January 20, 2015, 01:32:10 pm search google for monroe joysticks and compare
The special thing about monroe is the sleeve on the top side of the joystick (that you can get your fingers stuck in) Title: Re: 1982 Time Pilot Joystick replacement recommendation? Post by: bfrosty on January 21, 2015, 12:10:19 pm Nada...definitely NOT a Monroe Joystick...
So, which stick would be the best replacement? Thanks, MK Title: Re: 1982 Time Pilot Joystick replacement recommendation? Separately, does anyone know if there's a switcher to go between Gyruss and Time Pilot PCBs? Title: Re: 1982 Time Pilot Joystick replacement recommendation? www.jammaboards.com has a dual PCB switcher. You change board by using a remote control? Kinda cool...don't know how well it works. Also, they have a 4-board changer too....Woah!!! MK Title: Re: 1982 Time Pilot Joystick replacement recommendation? Post by: iankellogg on January 22, 2015, 08:48:12 pm You would have to buy adapters to go between the boards and jamma . And then use a jammy switcher. Also gyruss is a stereo audio game and jamma is mono so it doesn't work quite as well as you would hope
