Title: Atari Dominos 1977
Post by: lesoleil70 on December 31, 2014, 01:14:00 pm
Hi All,
Just grabbed this marquee off ebay.

I'm a big fan of this old 1977 game, always have been. Play it in mame, it's simple and addictive. Try and get the high score, it's 4!
I can see this exact marquee and style on mame rom sites, yet I can't find any images with this exact marquee on a dedicated machine, only the fulller coloured Atari one on the cabaret style machine seems to be pictured and on flyers and further down this post.
Can any of you find an image of this marquee above on a dedicated Atari machine for me?

The guy I got this off used to be a UK operator and used to get lots of marquees from the USA, so I don't see this being linked to Atari Ireland personally, but I could be wrong.

Thanks

Site with the Roms and this marquee can be seen here, and with a pic of the cabinet with it's advertised marquee that looks like this:-

Cool game. I've played the 4p cocktail version.

I know a fellow who has a Dominos Cocktail for sale, and im am thinking of buying it. But he asks for the equivalent of around 400 dollars (i live in Sweden, so here we use Krona and Euro), is that a reasonable price?

If you like the game as much as me, it seems about right.  I have a personal attachment with playing it as a child and loving it, completely forgetting about it, and rediscovering it later on, so for me it would be a great price.

If you are unsure about the game, play it many many times in MAME and see if you still like it. It's a win/lose game with a max score of 4, first to 4 wins,  but you can master it in less than an hour also.

I wonder now if there are difficulty settings, must look in to that....

Thank you for the info!

Have not played the game but have been watching gameplay videos and i think its a great concept. I think i would be a great party game since it sort of resembles SNAFU? or Snake?
