Title: ATARI FIRETRUCK
Post by: Howling_North on December 07, 2014, 02:24:01 pm
Bought me an Atari fire truck that wasn't working but the seller is convinces it will startup with a little work. Anyone else done this battle before? Where do I start?

Maybe you should check the power supply voltages first. Look over the boards for any damage or loose chips before you accidentally fry it.

I wonder if any of these have ever caught fire, that would be ironic.

I started with the power supply not working,  swapped it out with a known working one.
Then the monitor needed to be reflowed, mainly for the adjustment pots .
I have 8 of those boards not working and 3 that do.  one of the boards ended up in the smokey joe.
they do use a filter board but right now its running without it.
there is also a board behind the coindoor that handles the vol and shit, has a service switch .
make sure that's off.
