Title: LCD Monitor power Post by: Netropolis on December 05, 2014, 12:52:17 pm I am building a Cocktail table for my father-in-law for Christmas with a 60 in 1 card so he can play Galaga!
This should get me nominated for son-in-law of the year. I have everything I need to get this up and running... I have a question about the Monitor Power... Can I simply cut the end off the Monitor Power cord (the plug) and wire the Hot/Neutral and Ground directly to the power supply? I have an arcade power supply not a PC power supply. Any words of wisdom in this department? If that is the case, use a power strip and give it its own C13 cable (standard power cable).
If the LCD monitor is one of those super thin ones that uses a DC power brick instead of an internal power supply, look at what the brick uses and make sure your power supply has both the voltage and current available. If i missed what you meant let me know and i will be more than happy to help. I would like to avoid having a power bar/strip inside the cabinet. That being said, if I cut the plug off the monitor cable can I hook that right into the power supply and avoid any plugs inside this cabinet? I have installed one of those EMI Filter plug/power switch with a fuse on the cabinet already.
