Title: questions about connectors Post by: moogrum on November 25, 2014, 11:30:30 am In my Cruis'n I currently have this:
(http://i.imgur.com/Prhkivl.jpg) You can see the RGB inputs and sync wires are connected to a 5-pin connector. I just bought a 27" medium res monitor to replace the crappy flat screen, but the connector on the monitor has 6 pins. I assume I just need to splice the wires to an appropriate connector, according to the proper pinout, but just want to verify before I go doing anything stupid. Picture of the monitor below. Also, what is that crap you can see around the base of the caps (2nd picture)? Is that a problem I should address? (http://i.imgur.com/V3pnaU4.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/n2j8IWx.jpg) Secondly, the keypad doesn't work. Not a huge deal, but I'd like to get it working. I think it is wired wrong. What kind of tool do I need to rewire this thing: (http://i.imgur.com/K7R4KO6.jpg) Thanks for any input! For the first question, it probably has seperate Vsync and Hsync connections, with possibly one o them being Csync. The 5 pin connector you are using now has Csync. You will need to read the manual to figure out which pin can accept Csync. (composite sync) Title: Re: questions about connectors Post by: P-feif on November 25, 2014, 05:25:48 pm Is that cap leaking? Maybe clean it up and replace the cap?

I didn't know if that was something the previous owner might have done capping it or if it was something I should address. Wouldn't hurt to recap it just for due diligence I guess. Ian, where do I send my money??Title: Re: questions about connectors Post by: P-feif on November 25, 2014, 10:38:05 pm Well that one cap looks like there is a hole in the side that something is actually coming out of. I mean it is a picture and pictures can fool you but that's what I think I see.
Title: Re: questions about connectors Post by: iankellogg on November 25, 2014, 11:37:20 pm That's hot glue. That monitor has never been capped.
