Title: Determining my monitor hook-ups?
Post by: Otaku on October 02, 2014, 03:11:24 am
More monitor issues. :( I was looking to buy a converter that converters to VGA and RCA for like $36, and now I'm concerned I might not be able to make it work with my machine. I haven't bought it yet but I'd really like to do so, so I can make it for this weekend. There's very minimal documentation of the game on the internet, and the mis-translation never helps (Continental Circuit / Continental Circus, mine is the first but I would assume they are the same inside, almost), so I'm un-sure if I'd be able to hook it all together to the converter, as it mentions mostly JAMMA boards on the page for the converter.

I was looking at this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0KR05U3161&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-_-pla-_-Replacement+Parts-_-9SIA0KR05U3161) and it's quite cheap and that's what I need, but I'm un-sure if it would be compatible with my game, I've never done this before and I just want to hook something to it for testing. It's considered a unique pin-out. Here are the pin-outs: http://www.crazykong.com/pins/ContinentalCircus.pin.txt

The machine is two or so hours away until Friday afternoon, and the pictures I took previously turned out a bit blurry, but here they are, too:

Insides:

http://i.imgur.com/x8tAK05.jpg (The picture makes it look like it is attached to the board, it is not, and the black "wire-looking" thing behind it is a dark shadow)
http://i.imgur.com/uWhzSJl.jpg I think that's another empty clip on the bottom now that I look at it
http://i.imgur.com/4f1zMq5.jpg Took this for the hell of it, but another un-used clip, maybe? Also those yellow wires, they appear snipped from the picture but AFAIK they're not

I'd really just like to hook a small monitor to it for some testing, but even that is now seeming to prove difficult, hopefully this all could work out. I'd definitely like to get it shipped as early as possible (I'll ship it to that address) so I can use it once I get there, or on the next few days that I will be there. :)

You should be okay as the monitor connector coming off the harness in the game should be able to go onto the converter board. If it is not the right connector, replace it. There was a post here about monitor connectors if you want more information.

Yeah, I was just making sure it would work some way or another, didn't want to waste all that money. Thank you so much! :)
