Title: How to test a Wells-Gardner D9200? Post by: AxelFoley on September 22, 2014, 09:24:36 pm Hey guys! Thanks in advance for any help. I just bought a Silver Strike Bowling 2009 cabinet that is missing the computer. It has the monitor (which I'm assuming is a D9200). Is there any way for me to test it without having the computer? I guess it doesn't have a power supply to it and I'm unsure how to plug just the monitor into an outlet. Any ideas?

Post by: lordkahless214 on September 24, 2014, 06:52:05 pm If it is truly a D9200 then it will not need an isolation transformer and assuming you are in the USA you should be able to plug into an outlet directly, though you may have to make or buy a proper cord, IIRC Bob Roberts sells the cord or I have seen them on ebay.
It's been a while since I've worked with one, but a D9200 is capable of displaying any VGA signal directly, it is a tri sync monitor, but you may have to change cable settings on the chassis, then you could always just hook up any modern PC with a VGA port and get a picture that way This image may help you to verify the settings for cga/ega/vga cable positions http://easymamecab.mameworld.info/files/d9200.jpg (http://easymamecab.mameworld.info/files/d9200.jpg) it also indicates where power cord wired could be installed with the proper colors. I think I just need to make a power cord with a three prong white connector at the end of it so that I can plug the monitor in by itself. I have an old laptop power cable that I can make one of these out of :http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/181329245668?lpid=82. I'm assuming once I do that I can power it up and then plug my laptop into it and see what kind of picture, if any, that it has. Any ideas as to where to buy one of the white connectors? I may be getting one next week in the mail but if stores like Radio Shack sells them I could get one earlier and therefore test out the monitor sooner. Thanks again for the help. You guys are great!
