I just got my first arcade machine, a vs. super mario bros, and the screen is tinted green. Does anyone know of a likely problem? I quickly looked over the capacitors and none of them specifically look bulged or leaking, I have some photos of the screen here: http://imgur.com/a/fhd1C

Did you try adjusting the colors?

There are color adjustment pots on the montior's neckboard. You will also find R,G,B color adjustment pots on the game PCB. I would try adjusting those first and also play with the "screen" control which is on the monitor in the flyback cage. There is a metal box on the monitor with two holes in it. Inside those holes are two knobs. One knob does the focus the other does the screen/brightness controls.

And, just because the caps aren't bulging or leaking doesn't mean they are bad! All of these monitor that are still 100% original can def' use a cap kit as preventive maintenance and it might improve your picture too. But, typically, color issues are related to other problems or misadjustemens.

Ok, I bought a cap kit and am going to replace the capacitors soon. I also didn't know there were more color adjustments on the board, so I will give that a try as well.

i wouldnt touch the game pcb color pots, those are factory set, id recap the monitor, those can and will be bad without any physical signs. there are two sets of color adjustments, one on the inverter board (if you have one) where the rainbow cable plugs in and the pots on the neckboard.
i wouldnt touch the game board post unless you got a good picture using another board.
