Title: Possibly the dumbest question ever... Post by: Tarantulas on July 21, 2014, 10:56:17 am Are there technical differences between the DK, DK Jr, and DK3 boards that would preclude swapping ROMS to play the different games?
Upset that someone would suggest such a thing? I warned you that this was possibly the dumbest question ever! ;) Title: Re: Possibly the dumbest question ever... Post by: TimeRunner on July 21, 2014, 03:54:00 pm Everything you always wanted to know is here...

Upset that someone would suggest such a thing? I warned you that this was possibly the dumbest question ever! ;) The short answer is no. You can't easily Rom swap and convert the DK boards into other DK games. There is a hack to add Donkey Kong to a Junior board (Double DK) but the Mario walk sounds are messed up. Title: Re: Possibly the dumbest question ever... Post by: Tarantulas on July 22, 2014, 10:35:03 am You've talked about DDK like a million times, John... I don't know why I thought it was be some simple ROM swap.
Sorry to waste everyone's time. :\ https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?action=url&page=prod/ddk/ddk.html Title: Re: Possibly the dumbest question ever... Post by: StevesArcade on August 12, 2014, 07:29:50 pm No questions stupid man. We all learn from each other. So far i have seen ZERO bashing on other people because they ask a question. John has to dread seeing my name in his message box because I send him questions all the time. This is a cooperative hobby. We need each other to help keep this hobby and these great machines from our past alive.
Keep the questions coming bro! Title: Re: Possibly the dumbest question ever... Title: Re: Possibly the dumbest question ever... Post by: alby13 on August 15, 2014, 04:09:54 am the sound difference is played off as "you can't tell unless side-by-side" but the walking sound is too big of a difference.
such a lovely idea. expensive to convert though. thanks for the link. Title: Re: Possibly the dumbest question ever... Post by: iankellogg on August 15, 2014, 07:23:53 am If you have even a slightest clue what donkey kong sounds like you will get annoyed by DDK. plus the mod is so expensive its actually cheaper to buy a second board.
