Post by: Hyderyoda on July 08, 2014, 07:32:53 pm
Yes I need info on like a game list whats rare whats not why and where are the prices what they are ?
Bootleg not bootleg  what to look for (why  is it fake or is it real ) Box/no Box . English /non  English ? Yes I have lost it . The one thing that I know is when I got my Neo Geo cab for $190 it came with a Metal Slug X ( now I know it runs at or around $90 just for the game wow).
Please make the madness stop and send me a link of the games for the neogeo MVS !

a decent place to start is the neogeo website http://www.neo-geo.com/

The price list isn't maintained and are really wrong these days but it will give you the list of games and their estimated rarity. I find the rarity has no holding with its price these days so your best bet is to just browse ebay a TON and start getting a feel for what goes for what price.

Yeah they had clears, blacks, rentals, bootlegs, homebrew.

obvious bootlegs do not use circuit boards that say SNK or SNK Playmore

http://mvs.gotwalls.com/index.php/Main_Page

the way you know if a MVS cart is a bootleg is by comparing it to the original photos in that link. be aware there are variants and often times those different version are shown on the scans page but it may not.

if it doesn't match it may be a bootleg but not necessarily. it could simply be a repaired original by SNK or 3rd party.

but i think most of the chips are toshiba or sharp so that may be a giveaway.

it is not uncommon for SNK themselves to repair a board and put programmable chips in though, so that's not a exact way of determining.

often times a dead giveaway is when the solder is not perfect on the back of the board.

also some games had a SNK warranty seal so you can tell if it hasn't been tampered with that it is all original, baby!
