Title: Tempest Upright Value
Post by: jasonsmith on May 19, 2014, 12:29:30 pm
Hey guys, what's a Tempest worth? I'd like to get one but it seems that the prices are much higher than what is listed on eXidy.

So for a original upright with typical CPO damage, some small chunks out of the cabinet sides, dinged up coin door etc...

with those is always an issue of "Working monitor" that effects price.

Everything works from what I can see and have been told.

$800 is the highest I think anyone should pay for a tempest. I think the general consensus is around $600 for a working tempest.

I have seen them locally for around $550-$600 working. $800 is not impossible depending on condition.

550 - 600 is fair, I'd commit to one at that price. Have no idea why someone would think they can get 1400 for one or even 1000 when it's average at best. Maybe it's just my area...
